Wanted: One Better Phone
It's not that I'm terribly unhappy with my current mobile phone. I mean, I hardly use the thing. I don't even particularly like talking on it -- through no fault of its own, mind you; it's more that I don't really like being on the phone in general. And yet, I seem compelled to replace it with the Latest and Greatest™. In fact, I even recently bought a newer phone.I tried it out for a week, didn't really like it, and sent it back. Deep down, I knew right from the start that I wouldn't be satisfied with it, but the pessimist in me (he grows stronger every day!) tried to convince me to lower my standards.
Kind Sir or Madam: I am here to tell you that I will not settle for less than what I already have, even if it means using the same phone for the next ten years. Yes, I may be the laughing stock of my peers using out-dated technology, but so be it.
I have decided that I will not purchase another phone until one comes out that meets the following criteria:
- Made by Nokia.
- No colour screen. Why a colour screen on a phone would be desirable is far beyond me. It uses more power, and you can't see it as well in the daylight.
- Bluetooth-enabled. I have a PowerBook with built-in Bluetooth, and I'd like to finally be able to sync my address book.
- Not bigger than my current phone.
- Polyphonic and/or MP3 ring tones.
- Affordable. I do not want to pay more than $200 for a phone.
I somehow doubt a phone will ever come out that matches my criteria, but I'm going to wait and see anyway.
