Can it be?
The strangest thing happened to me this morning. Well, let me start with some background... My Honda Civic has these "door visors" that create a little shield on the top of the side windows. It allows you to crack your windows open when it's raining without letting the water in. At any rate, just over a year ago, my car was broken into, and the criminals who did it, smashed my driver-side visor in the process. A few months ago, some attempted to break into my car, but only got as far as smashing the other visor. (Why they didn't go through the side that was already missing the visor is beyond me.) At any rate, when I went out to my car this morning, I was greeted by a very nice surprise.Sitting on top of my car, tucked into the sunroof visor was this box:
Now, I'm familiar with this box, as I've had a door visor smashed once before. I opened up the box, and sure enough, two brand-spanking-new door visors sat inside.
I can think of a few reasons for this box showing up on my car. So without further ado, here are my thoughts, in order of likelihood:- Some Honda owner in the neighbourhood has noticed the lack of door visors on my car over the past while, and finally decided to do something about it. (I can understand how this would bug someone.)
- The original criminals who broke into my car felt guilty, and tracked me down.
- A gift from the Honda gods.
- Santa came early.
- The world is becoming a better place
Well, whoever you are, mystery person, thank you!

Wow! That is quite interesting. Hope you find out how it happened so we all know. :) - Jake, Monday, June 16, 2003 Praise be to allah for providing door visors... - kerry, Monday, June 16, 2003 I can't help but think this is all tied into some kind of conspiracy. - Mike, Monday, June 16, 2003 I once had the emblems stolen off of my old '78 bmw in the SFU parking lot. Two weeks later, they magically reappeared! I went through the same list of potential reasons for it, and decided it must have been #2. A few years later, my sister confessed that the brother of her punk boyfriend had stolen some emblems off a bmw, got busted by his mother, and they decided to stick them on to my car rather than trying to track down the original victim... - Darren, Tuesday, July 22, 2003 Someone in my building periodically folds my dried laundry after removing it from the dryer. I always wish I could catch them so I could say 'get your hands off my goddam clothes!' Seriously, I'd like to see them so I could thank them. - Todd, Saturday, August 2, 2003 |
