301, Baby!
For Christmas, Joanna got me the best present a guy could ever get: an electronic dartboard (broken image). Thank you so much, Joanna! I've played electronic darts a few times before at the place of some friends (Sam and Sabine), and had a blast each time. There are many dart games you can play, but so far my favourites are "301" and "Round the Clock".I remember a while ago I read about a cool project (read "geeky") that some guys at Harvard did. They reverse-engineered this logic board on a dartboard, and plugged a computer into it. They wrote some Linux drivers, and made a daemon which would provide any connected clients with live statistics. They actually did a bunch more than that, so if you want to read more about it, take a look at it here.
At any rate, since my new dartboard is of the same brand, I figure the logic board is probably pretty close. I happen to know someone who has some hardware-engineering skills. So, Craig, if you're out there, we need your assistance!
